February 19th, 2000

As we approached the property this weekend we could visibly see that they had completed stacking the logs up to the 18th course. This completes the the north and south walls. But as we pulled into our driveway, we noticed a single window framed in the west gable end of the house. This was our bedroom window. Once we got out of the truck, we saw the porch floor had been framed too.

Upon entering the house, we saw the log beams. Wow! We never conceived it would look this cool! We stood in each "room" of the house and looked around. Now that the beams were up, we could now "see" where the Great Room ended and the Kitchen began. The Great Room is huge. Not just because it's 32 x 25, but because it will have a vaulted ceiling.

The house is really starting to look rustic. We didn't realize how beautiful the interior log beams would look. Why anyone would not want Round logs is beyond us.

We decided to paint the crawspace blocks a Hunter/Verde Green. We actually painted a portion of it under the porch to see what it will look like, and we like it. Next Sunday we plan on painting more of the crawlspace.

Thanks for being part of our dream.
