January 30th, 2000

With a new builder already on site, an arrangement with the bank, and a new arrangement with R & R enterprises, we feel we may be on our way to actually getting a home built.

Waterfield financial was reluctant to disperse any more funds because we had already drawn over 50% of the avaialble fund without 50% of a house to show. This is because we are awaiting the retun of 58,750.00 from R & R Enterprises. So in order to continue us to draw from available funds, we had to put a collateral lien on our condo. Once R & R returns the funds we will send them back to Waterfeild Financial and they will remove the lien.

We purchased our shed in December knowing that we would need a place to store windows and doors. It arrived on January 8th. of course, it needed to have a permit and be inspected. We passed the inspection. The first time we passed an inspection on the first try)

The Inspector for our slab and columns needed more information from the engineer. Needless to say we had a difficult time getting that information. The engineer didn't know why the inspector asked for it. Bottom line is , who cares why, we can't get an inspection passed without it. So after fighting with Casual Country Log homes, and Southland Log homes, we finally got the paperwork and hope to have it inspected again this week. Southland told us they are looking to replace this engineer too.

We actually failed the slab inspection 3 times now. The first time because of the letter the inspector needed from the engineer, the second because the letter was wrong AND someone stole our plans. And most recently because the new letter wasn't posted in time for the inspection.

Back to the stolen plans.... we were shocked to find that someone stole our plans. We called everyone who had been working on the project, and no one had them. So we asked Permit Providers, a company which does much of the permit "leg work", to get us copies. Michele at permit providers is a blessing in disguise. She had made several runs to the county for us, for a nominal fee. This means we don't need to take time off from work to go to the county.

Things are starting look up, and we feel it will all come together soon.
Cindy and I want to thank everyone for their support durring these stressful times.

Thanks for visiting
