December 24th, 1999When we arrived at the property, the masons were already at work. We were glad to see someone working on the crawlspace. We did manage to get the draw money from the loan company for Geck Concrete. That ordeal is over and we got through it without any major hitches. We have accepted a bid from a builder to do the dry-in and stack the logs. Cindy and I feel very confident that this builder can do the job properly. Once we clear up all the issues with the loan company, we can begin work on the sub-floor and arrange for a draw schedule for the builder. As I mentioned last week, we fired R & R Enterprises. We have made arrangements with them to return the funds they received from us and from the loan company in a timely manner.
At this time, Cindy and I feel confident that they will do the "right" thing.
Cindy and I know that once this house is done, we will look back and be proud of ourselves. Even through some very difficult times, we've managed
to remain level headed and emerge with a positive outlook. Months ago when we had problems with Southland Log Homes, Cindy and I said "We will build this home."
and remain true to that statement today. We've encountered many obstacles in our path. But our goal remains the same. We both see this as a learning experience.
We hope that our expereices will help others who look to build a log home. For every question we found an answer to, there were two more questions we hadn't yet asked.
We are glad that you can share in our experiences, and can learn and grow with us.
