November 21th, 1999

We are still waiting for the county to inform us that the notice of commencement has been recorded. We cannot get any inspections until this is done. So we are waiting on the temporary electric pole inspection. Charles our foreman, will be down here on November 30th, but foundation work will start on the 22nd. I don't expect too much to get done because of the holiday, but something is better than nothing. We purchased Builders Risk insurance and liability insurance to protect ourselves. This past weekend when we were at the property, we saw a fox. The first fox Cindy and I have ever seen. It was exciting. We also took a ride to the Loxahatchee Wildlife Preserve and found that there are boardwalks and nature trails already marked for people.

We passed our denisty test with flying colors, which means that the pad is solid enough to hold the house.

We met with an electrican regarding a quote for the electrical work and at the same time found out that Southland Log Homes did NOT pre-cut the electrical groove in our base logs. Upon calling them, they replied we never cut a groove. I found this odd, since our sales quote and their own website says "Every Southland Log Home comes with a groove cut in the base log."

Have a happy Thanksgiving!
