November 14th, 1999
Well we ran into a small snag. Apparently our construction loan company forgot to submit the "Notice of Commencement" to the county. So we cannot get any inspections done until this is submitted and recorded at the county clerks office. Friday, November 12th, we sent in the paper work. We found this out when we attempted to schedule an inspection for the temporary electric pole which was installed this past week. The automated recording told us, "No Notice of Commencement has been filed". So that started the phone calls. We hope to get the paper back from the county by Wednesday.

We also are awaiting the results of the density test. We should receive that information Monday, or Tuesday. All this works out perfectly because Charles our log home advisor won't be back here until Wednesday afternoon. So by the time he gets here we will be ready for foundation work.

I am hoping that the foundation can begin on Friday or Monday of the following week. We will be returning to the property on saturday to meet with another electrician, (We met with one this weekend) and to meet with a fence installer. While speaking to the electrician and showing him the documents from Southland about how the base set of logs is grooved to provide room for outlets and electrical wiring, we noticed....the logs were not grooved. So we are trying to contact Southland to find out why.

Each day is another step to our dream, and we're glad you can be a part of it.
